Product Review - Biba Eye Palette
I've always been a fan of Biba and the iconic Barbara Hulaniki so the first thing to remember is that the Biba of old and the new, relaunched range are two different things. Original Biba came to a close in 1975 but the name has lived on without its original creator and has really came back in force via House of Fraser in the last few years with a fabulous advertising campaign and gorgeous range of clothing, jewelery and accessories.
The second thing to remember is that the original Biba ethos was to create high fashion clothing and accessories at affordable prices and it could be argued that this is no longer the case when dresses and bags run into hundreds of pounds each (although they are beautiful!).
The eye palette that I am reviewing is priced at £26 but if you move quickly you may still be able to purchase it in the sale for just over £20. You get what you pay for here as the packaging is classic Biba, the colours are a striking blend of metallic and shimmery jewel tones and the quality of the mineral powder formulation is great.
As with all eyeshadows, you can build up the colour intensity as you desire and have the option of dampening your brush for maximum effect and a long-lasting result. I'd say that this range holds up well against other strongly pigmented ranges such as MAC and I hope that this is the first of many excellent palettes to come from the revamped Biba range.
Also in this collection are a lip and a face palette so visit www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Biba to discover this prestigious range for yourself.
